Organic Laying Chickens & Eggs
The Friday Street Farmers have over 120 Organic laying Chickens of various breeds including light sussex, black rock, calder ranger, white star and bovans nera.
This ensures that we have a mixture of organic, free range eggs varying in colour and size from white, brown and even the occasional green egg!
All the chickens have a spacious hen house with natural light and space with continual access to the fields outside where they can scratch, peck the ground and eat the grass with the only extra being our own organic cereals.
This successful combination gives us happy and contented birds that lay eggs of the best standard and taste.
Organic Table Chickens (Eating Chickens)
Unfortunately table chickens are currently unavailable - dated: 20th April 2010.
Due to the increasing demand for organic chicken to eat, we are in the process of rearing our own organic table birds.
Like our organic laying chickens, these birds again will have access to the fields where they can roam at their leisure, being grown slowly, this will ensure that the meat has a fuller flavour and is plentiful in Omega 3 which non-organic birds no longer contain.
